Clinical Careers

NEW! Quality, Compliance & Education Director (RN) - Full Time - Tucson Metro Office/Corporate Administration
The Quality, Compliance and Education Director is responsible for the overall quality, compliance and education (QCE) of the organization, and managing the day-to-day QCE functions. This position is a supervisory role, directing the CQI Associates for orchestration and implementation of CQI & QAPI programs. The QCE Director participates as a member of the Executive Leadership Team, and participates in periodic leadership meetings as a member of Valor’s senior leadership group. This position is regional in scope, and involves travel around the Valor service areas several days each month. The successful candidate will be computer literate, overseeing ERP/clinical softward program.
Qualifications include:
· Current Arizona Registered Nurse (RN) license; experience in hospice/home health services preferred.
· Bachelors Degree in nursing. Master's in healthcare or business preferred.

· High-level experience with managing and directing quality initiatives and educational programs.
· Demonstrated experience in education and training.
· Health care professional with knowledge of service areas.
· Demonstrated ability to interact with wide variety of medical, professional and community groups.
· Demonstrated ability to represent Valor to the community and to appropriately advocate for the hospice program.
· Demonstrated excellent communication skills, written and oral.
· Strong experiences with Hospice Conditions of Participation, State Regulations, ADR Processes, Lean Healthcare, Risk Management, Utilization Review and Performance Improvement Plan activities.
· Demonstrated ability to develop and refine policies and procedures based on identified needs and related guidelines.

NEW! On-Call Nurse (RN) - Sierra Vista Office
Responsible as a member of the interdisciplinary team to the Program Director & Administrator for the provision of skilled nursing assessment and hospice care in order to maximize the comfort and health of patients and families consistent with Valor HospiceCare policies and procedures.
Responsible for providing skilled nursing, intervention, supportive care and admissions in patients’ homes for weekend, holiday, evening and night on-call duty in accordance with the Hospice Interdisciplinary plan of care for each patient.
QUALIFICATIONS
•   Possession of current license as a registered professional nurse in the state of Arizona.
•  Minimum two years of recent varied work experience as a professional nurse and preferably one of the two years in an acute, oncology, home health, and/or hospice setting.
•  Demonstrated ability to assess and respond to the needs of patients and families in varied settings.

NEW! Spiritual Care Provider - Part Time - Sierra Vista Office
Responsible as a member of the interdisciplinary team to the Program Director & Administrator for the provision of spiritual support to patient's/family's desire and belief system and consistent with Valor HospiceCare's policies and procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for implementing and coordinating all activities of the spiritual services program and the delivery of spiritual services to patients/families.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Graduate of accredited seminary or school of theology or appropriate certification in hospital or pastoral ministry and/or counseling.
• Demonstrated ability to be open, sensitive, flexible and ecumenical.
• Demonstrated experience in working with patients/families dealing with life-threatening illness and death.

NEW! Nurse Case Managers (RN) - Full Time - Tucson Metro & Green Valley Offices
Responsible Registered Nurse as a member of the interdisciplinary group for the provision of skilled nursing assessment and hospice care in order to maximize the comfort and health of patients and families. Must have good computer skills as well. Positions may be Full Time, Part Time or PRN.
Skills and qualifications include:
· Current license as a registered nurse in the state of Arizona.
· Minimum two years recent varied work experience as a professional nurse in an acute, oncology, home health or hospice setting.
· Demonstrated ability to assess and respond to the needs of patients and families in varied settings.
· Ability to cope with family emotional stress and tolerance of individual lifestyles.
· Availability to work evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
· Demonstrated ability to make meaningful observations and write comprehensive, accurate reports.
· Demonstrated ability to provide effective support during patient/family visits.
· Must be computer literate.

Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA)
Due to growth we are in need of Certified Nurse’s Assistants to work with our hospice patients. Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, provides personal care services within the guidelines of the interdisciplinary group plan to patients enrolled in Valor Patient Care program. Positions may be Full Time, Part Time or PRN.
A Certified Hospice Aide must be certified by the State Board of Nursing. The Aide must be current in health requirements. In addition, the Aide must meet federal home Health Aide training and competency requirements (Section 4021(b) of Public Law 100-203). This competency shall be demonstrated by passing a written competency and skills examination by a qualified Registered Nurse.

Clinical - Physician & Nurse Practitioner Careers

Responsible to the Medical Director as a member of the interdisciplinary group for developing, maintaining and monitoring all policies and standards of the medical activities of the organization, and for the medical aspect of Valor’s PatientCare program and activities with members of the local medical community. Computer skills required.

Skills and Experience include:
· Nurse Practitioner duly licensed under the provisions of the Arizona Business and Professions Code.
· Masters of Science in Nursing.
· Nurse Practitioner specialty in Hospice, palliative care, home health or geriatrics.
· Minimum of two years Nurse Practitioner experience required.
· Current Hospice and/or Home Health experience with pain and symptom management interventions preferred.
· Understanding of Hospice philosophy, principles of death/dying.
· Demonstrated knowledge and well developed skills in medicine, oncology, pharmacology; pain and symptom control; psychology of loss; demonstrated understanding and acceptance of hospice principles of care.
· Demonstrated excellent observation, assessment, nursing judgment and communication skills.
· Ability to make home visits for patient evaluations, assessments and plan of care assistance.

Physicians (MD, DO) - Hospice and Palliative Care Programs
    Associate Medical Directors
Our growing organization is looking for Hospice & Palliative Care Physicians. Position requires experience in hospice, palliative medicine, internal medicine or geriatric care programs. Will support patient care for patients in private homes, skilled nursing facilities, adult care homes and assisted living facilities. Through The Valor Institute and Valor PalliativeCare programs, will also assist with company's quality, regulatory and palliative care, including in-home patient evaluations and current patient consultation visits. Through community outreach program, will assist with education of Medicare hospice benefit with areas physicians and other healthcare professionals. Must be well organized, well respected in the community, able to clearly articulate the hospice benefit. Position requires Physician to carry own malpractice/liability insurance for non-hospice duties.
